
Field Program Coordinator (Scaling Near Vision Glasses Distribution Project)

- Provide continuous technical support to trained personnel at regional, zonal, and woreda levels to ensure consistent and high-quality implementation.
- Plan and coordinate advocacy activities at the Ministry of Health, Regional Health Bureaus, district, and community levels to raise awareness and generate demand for near vision glasses among populations in need.
- Plan and support conducting community-based presbyopia screening to accurately identify individuals in need of near vision correction.
- Coordinate the deployment and equitable distribution of near-vision glasses, ensuring efficient logistics and client satisfaction.
- Support regional, zonal, and woreda stakeholders throughout the distribution process, including planning, implementation, and follow-up.
- Implement and monitor quality assurance mechanisms across screening and distribution activities, including adherence to clinical protocols, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and data accuracy standards.
- Facilitate feedback collection and integrate lessons learned into service delivery for continuous improvement.
- Provide technical support for the adaptation, digitalization, and implementation of decision support and tools, ensuring integration into routine workflows and supervision systems.
- Support health teams at various levels in using these tools to enhance evidence-based decision-making and improve service outcomes.
- Oversee data entry and management using standardized tracking tools to ensure timely, accurate, and complete data capture.
- Collaborate with the MERL team to support monitoring, evaluation, and knowledge management related to service delivery.
- Build and maintain strong working partnerships with the Ministry of Health (MoH), regional health bureaus, implementing partners, and other stakeholders.
- Actively participate in technical working groups (TWGs) and coordination forums to share updates, align strategies, and promote learning.
- Bachelor's or postgraduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., public health, social science, community development).
- Demonstrated experience working within the national and/or sub-national health system (community health workers program a plus); familiarity with government structures and processes
- Experience working in primary health care interventions.
- Familiarity with the Community Health Information System and DHIS2
- Ability to diplomatically navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, proactively problem solve, and achieve results and consensus with multiple influencers.
- Demonstrated experience in partner engagement and project management.
- Comfort with working in teams as well as acting independently in the implementation of specific tasks, prioritizing, working under pressure, and meeting deadlines.
- Robust knowledge management skills, including the advanced use of MS Office applications and Google Suite
- You have a background in optometry
- You have digital health program design or implementation experience
- You have demonstrated facilitation of training/capacity strengthening for adult learners
- You have knowledge of the application of AI for health service delivery
- You have knowledge of existing data being tracked in DHIS2, specifically community health data.
- You have progressive experience implementing an advocacy agenda with national and subnational government stakeholders
